TESO: The Elder Guide

I was so excited once I saw that The Elder Scrolls Online was a reality and a reality for the short-term that I had to write a Hub about it.

I realize that once some time has elapsed, this Hub will get outdated because the game has already launched, but for fans of The Elder Scrolls saga it will retain its value, since it has story and the concept art for the game - it's a little piece of Gaming History and I hope it will last for that.

So, interesting in knowing more about this game? I don't blame you, since Skyrim was one of the biggest hits on gaming for a while - so read on and explore Tamriel.

The Elder Scrolls Online's Story

The Elder Scrolls Online happens when armies of dark beings and energy is present throughout Tamriel and there’s a period of famine ravishing the lands – all being mystic are feeling it by being tormented in their heads over and over again with the sense of impending doom.

Remember the Imperial City? Well, it blow up with a burst of magic energy that killed every mage but those that were left mad by the explosion that was felt across the entire country. Daedras started appearing again, and in numbers that were never seen before. Oblivion started to melt together with the lands by unleashing a great number of creatures of the occult, true chaos.

Molag Bal, the Daedric prince of enslavement threatens to merge Oblivion and the whole continent together, and you know Molag Bal means business when he affected so many people throughout Skyrim when he was barely present there – remember the Elder Scrolls Skyrim and how he messed with people’s heads?

The Imperial City and White-Gold Tower are now vacant and await a new ruler. This is the perfect bait for war, so three factions rise – these alliances are The Aldmeri Dominion, The Ebonheart Pact and The Daggerfall Covenant.

As a Skyrim unconditional fan, I’m going with the Nords all the way!

What alliance are you going to pick? Read more on these alliances below.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Alliances and Factions

Daggerfall Covenant

High King Emeric has the desire to take the Ruby Throne and so he joined the magical and mystique Bretons, the bloodthirster Orcs and the athletic and war experts, the Redguards.

Look at this alliance, there’s so much balance between physical strength, agility and magic that it is certainly a power not to be trifled with.

Ebonheart Pact

My favorite alliance, the Ebonheart Pact, they are quite an unlikely alliance but I’ll tell you why it works.

First of all, the Dark Elves are cunning and have the affinity for magic you already know of, the Argonians are great at ambushing and small skirmishing warfare and the all mighty Nords – I know, I’m letting my preference run here – are the front line, shield bashing, sword fighting, axe cutting heroes.

They want their independence and are ready to fight for it! I am so eager to play as a Nord in this Alliance I can’t picture it soon enough.

Aldmeri Dominion

If you played Skyrim you know that the Aldmeri Dominion were the oppressors, the bad guys, but don’t forget they were only the “bad guys” because they wanted to expand their land and get Skyrim to be a vassal state – all politics.

The Imperial City now supports Molag Bal, and the Aldmeri Dominion could’t let that happen, so the Elves and the Khajiit joined and sworn to end that situation.

The High Elves are the magic experts and the creators of the common language that it is used throughout the continent, the Wood Elves are your typical Legolas kind of Elf, hitting everything that moves with grace and elegance, while the Khajiit are fearsome warriors and cat like assassins.

This is another one of the great powers.

Character Creation: A True Wonder

For what I can see, the character creation screen on The Elder Scrolls Online is going to be pretty neat, allowing you to customize everything you want in your character - and you can even adjust your body specifications - and everything in it, not just the weight, height and muscles... the whole thing.

Face creation, shoulder width, it is pretty exciting and I can't wait to create my character - honestly excited!

Take a look at the below video that shows you how character creation works.

Gathering, Scavenging and Exploring

If you played Skyrim you know that it was pretty fun to check barrels, crates and enter a home to steal apples, cheeses and even the plates and glasses.

You would gather everything you stole in a big stockpile and Fus-Ro-Dah all of it! I know this was one of the biggest mindless fun moments I had with the game.

Well, in The Elder Scrolls Online, you'll be able to join every kind of item to create something, and this isn't for experienced players but for newbie players alike, so you can start gathering, crafting and exploring as soon as you enter the world.

I'm leaving you a pretty exciting video preview of how gathering and exploring works on this new game!
